Chapter 1
My name is Mike Stevens. No-one special, just the son of a barrow boy from the east end of London. Dad was the last of a long family line of operators of the “Stevens’ Eels” barrow. Every day he’d be out on the streets from dawn til evening selling his range of culinary delights – jellied eels, pies, cockles, whelks naked girls pictures pies with liquor.
